MALDI mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) is a powerful technology that is being used to visualize the spatial distribution of dosed drugs, metabolites, lipids, peptides and proteins directly from the surface of a tissue section. Improvements to the laser and a continuous motion sample plate make the TOF/TOF™ 5800 system the fastest MSI system available with the capabilities for low-resolution survey images and high-definition spatial resolution of down to 1µm on the same tissue sample.

The on-axis variable repetition rate Nd:YAG OptiBeam™ laser delivers high sensitivity MS and MS/MS data on a wide range of molecules from the same tissue section, including small molecules peptides and proteins.

A new self-cleaning MALDI source overcomes the drawbacks of system contamination from tissue samples to significantly increase system up-time and productivity.
