  This session will provide an introduction to the technique of LC/MS/MS and proceed to provide real-life examples in the use of this technology for forensic casework. Speakers include Dr. Tania Sasaki, Clinical Research and Forensics Technical Marketing Specialist, Applied Biosystems; Paul Rafelo, Oregon State Police Department, and Dr. Sebastian Dresen, Research Scientist, University of Freiburg (Germany), Department of Legal Medicine. Following the workshop presentations, attendees are invited to board the Steamboat Natchez, the only authentic steamboat in New Orleans, for a customer appreciation cocktail reception and jazz cruise from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. along the Mississippi river! The Steamboat Natchez has a climate-controlled indoor reception area with plenty of windows to enjoy the scenery as the river and French Quarter glide by to the sounds of the Dukes of Dixieland. The cruise will depart from the Toulouse St. Wharf behind Jax Brewery, which is a short distance from the New Orleans Marriott hotel. Tickets and walking directions will be provided at the workshops. Motorcoach buses will also be available to shuttle attendees to/from the hotel lobby and the Steamboat Natchez. The Steamboat will begin boarding at 5:30 p.m. and depart promptly at 6 p.m.
